This webpage is about 絕代雙驕 by 古龍, 'The Ultimate Twin' by 'Gulong'.

'The Ultimate Twin' is the one of the most read book in the world but it is very rarely known to people that don't know Chinese.

Not only has this book been made into many films, it has been made into many TV series.

This book is 'wuxia' (武俠), the interpretation of the two words is roughly 'skill of fighting' and 'hero', KungFu films is what most people think of but its influence extends all over the place, Spaghetti Western, Manga and even Buffy.

Given the level of 武俠 popularity, thousands and thousands of films made, there has been nothing that comes close to reading the books in Chinese. This is a good 'first big Chinese book' to read, if a person gets into it and read it till the end, there probably isn't many books the person can't read, 'The Ultimate Twin' is a very big book.

Wuxia is a good choice for learning Chinese, it uses the terms and metaphors much more abundantly than normal novels and a person can learn to make sense of how the Chinese words are used effectively, at a more advanced level.

Obviously, this is a very difficult thing for a person not very experienced in reading Chinese, the TransVBooks translates them to English, this is the idea.

A person don't actually have to know anything about reading Chinese to read this TransVBook, potentially this book is of interest to people who want to know what its like to read Chinese. A very different experience to reading English, the words are much more compact so it is a lot faster, the organisation of words is far less constrained and there is a few thousand years of literature to draw from.

This is the first TransVBook ever produced and the book 'The Ultimate Twin' is the test data for developing the TransVBook, I think the choice may amuse.
